Laufen Booth ISH 2019

Swissness in Frankfurt

7 collections, 34 new products on 800 m²

The Swiss bathroom specialist Laufen presented itself at the world’s leading trade fair ISH in Frankfurt as an innovator on many levels. The sensational exhibition stand – designed by Swiss architects Fuhrimann Hächler – provided the perfect stage for the design oriented collections from Laufen. The self-assured stand architecture centered around a fountain sculpture of 14 Cleanet Riva shower toilets inspired by the Trevi Fountain, Rome.
The main design focus for the 34 new products presented in Frankfurt was on holistic solutions that enable a consistent design language throughout the bathroom areas.

A driving force behind the variety of designs was the unique Saphirkeramik material, developed by Laufen, allowing a material wall thickness of only 3-4 mm and radii of 2-3 mm diameter. A revolution in the design of sanitary ceramics that inspired designers such as Marcel Wanders, Konstantin Grcic and Patricia Urquiola to create incomparable shapes in their Laufen-designed collections. Designer Marcel Wanders expanded The New Classic collection, which was presented as a concept at the Salone Internationale del Bagno in 2018, with accompanying furniture, mirrors, accessories and a bathtub.

True global innovation was demonstrated by Laufen’s involvement in the development of save!, the first urine separating toilet developed in cooperation with the Austrian design studio EOOS and Eawag from Switzerland, one of the world’s leading water research institutes. At the ISH, Laufen showed this groundbreaking, operational solution for effective and hygienic wastewater separation to the public for the first time.

But not only at the trade fair was the high product quality to be experienced. On the first day of the fair VIP guests joined Laufen at the Omniturm, Germany’s first mix-use tower, which integrates both apartments and office space. All sanitary rooms are equipped with products from Laufen. In a model apartment on the 15th floor of the high-rise building, guests were able to experience not only the high-quality bathroom design but also the view over Frankfurt at night.
